Quality of Life and Its Predictors among Patients with Selected Chronic Diseases

Background. Quality of life (QoL) is an important measure to understand the effect diseases on patients’ daily living. Yet, research QoL among patients with chronic in Oman scarce. This study aimed assess level and determine predictors Oman. Methods. A cross-sectional correlational descriptive was run 340 obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, and/or end-stage renal disease. Results. Participants’ mean age 60.6 years (SD ± 14.4) majority were males (63.5%). The highest scores emotional well-being (mean = 85.2, SD ±11.2) role limitations due personal or problems 83.2, ±35.8). In addition, COPD reported lowest questionnaire. Having a high score Karnofsky Performance Status Scale (KPSS) being married predicted higher mental physical domains QoL, while having total symptom number lower domain. Older age, number, distress domain QoL. Conclusion. results call for need improve disease, including management plans, self-management programmes, training enhance their own perception Furthermore, plans are highly needed.
